AYA   1915 to 2008

AYA is a name that is well known all over the world for the superb quality of their products.

In the early days the company employed up to 500 people making a range of middle of the road side by side, single barrel and over and under shotguns for the Spanish and European market.

In the early 1950’s the King brothers from the U.K. arrived in Spain with samples of a Westley Richards, Anson & Deeley Boxlock action and a Holland & Holland Sidelock and asked AYA to duplicate them.

These two action styles are now the foundation of the AYA side by side guns in Boxlock and Sidelock. The over and under shotgun is a duplication of the Merkel Under and Over shotgun.

The  Market in the U.K. readily took to these new models as the prices were only a fraction of the cost of the U.K. made equivalent but delivered a quality of manufacture that according to a number of recent English gun magazine test articles is the equal of the English guns but without the name or the price tag.

The company AYA now has reduced its staff over the years to approximately 25 craftsmen and now only focus on their top of the line models.

Stager Sport have been distributing AYA for nearly 18 years and now find that we are creating bespoke guns to clients measurements and requirements with the aid of the internet.

Our clients are also able to select the walnut of their choice via the internet.

Stager Sport also offer a free fitting service to new buyers of AYA to insure perfect fit.
