Meindl - Gear of the Year 2009
The Meindl footwear range has received two first places in the categories of walking shoes and hiking boots and a third place in the category of multifunction in the 2009 Readers' Choice Awards of the German magazine "Outdoor".
In the category of "trekking boots" Meindl came back to the model "vacuum GTX" and the innovative vacuum technology. In 2007 Meindl won this category with the same model. "We are confirming that the vacuum innovation is established in the market. This makes us very happy" said Luka Meindl.
The Meindl Air Revolution 3.1 was once againwon the category of walking shoes. Just like 2007, 2006 and 2005 where the "Air Revolution 3.1" placed top in the Readers' Choice Awards - Now with four first places the Air-Revolution is high in the company's list of winning designs.
In the footwear category the multifunctional Model Magic 5.0 XCR reached a remarkable third place. Meindl is proud of the success of their multi-function shoes that they've we have gained over recent years. The competition in the multifunction category is the greatest of all the divisons.
Meindl has had a great year for industry awards, with this triple success helping to confirm Meindl's position at the top of the of shoe industry.
